Sustainability & Our Positive Impact

At Toffeemont Alpacas, sustainability is at the heart of everything we do. We are committed to caring for our animals, protecting our land, and creating meaningful experiences that connect visitors with the natural environment.

Our alpacas are ethically cared for year-round, producing a luxurious, renewable fibre that is shorn annually without harm. Every fleece is valued, with much of it transformed into beautiful Australian-made yarns and products, helping to minimise waste and support local businesses.

We actively manage our farm using environmentally responsible practices, including relying on rainwater, maintaining healthy pastures, and working to preserve the natural beauty of our property for future generations. As part of our long-term environmental commitment, we have planted more than 100 new trees to establish natural shelter belts for our alpacas while creating valuable native habitat for birds, pollinators and local wildlife. By improving biodiversity and enhancing the landscape, these plantings will benefit both our animals and the environment for years to come.

As a family-owned farm, we’re proud to support our local community through education, tourism and agricultural awareness. Whether welcoming school groups, hosting farm tours, or sharing our passion for alpacas, we aim to inspire visitors to appreciate sustainable farming, ethical animal care and the importance of supporting regional Tasmania.

Every visit to Toffeemont Alpacas helps contribute to a more sustainable future -supporting local agriculture, responsible tourism and a genuine connection between people, animals and the land.
